I have created this page as I want to encourage all dog owners to pick up after their dogs as its not nice to get it in my wheels of my wheelchair or for anybody else while out walking. Angie Cobbin



From the 29 April 2011, the park now includes four additional hectares of public space. Fort Amherst's park land is open, free of charge, every day except Christmas Day as part of the Great Lines Heritage Park. The park opens at 6.15am all year round, and closes at 7.45pm in summer and 3.45pm in winter. Thanks go to the Royal Engineers who kindly open and close the gates each day. A new footbridge (close to the Chatham Naval Memorial) connects Fort Amherst to the new paths over the Great lines.

On 13 April 2011, following a photo call for the Medway News, the committee carried out a visit of the Great Lines Heritage Park.


On 3 March 2011, the Inaugural Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Great Lines Heritage Parks held at the Brompton Academy.The meeting approved the following appointments to the FoGLHP Committee: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Events and Fund raising, Press and Publicity, and five other members.
